Abstract–Reflection characteristics of microstrip two-periodic gratings of perfectly conducting infinitely long strips having the complex shape are considered. The effect when reflected field possess orthogonal polarization relative to incidence wave polarization is considered. The possibility of insertion the control device in strips for the transformation considered grating to the array from the strip disconnected elements is proposed. The possibility for the structure application as high-impedance surface is considered. The comparison of the reflection properties of the two-periodic gratings of non-chiral strips and straight-line strip gratings is presented.

Abstract – This paper describes in detail the measurement procedure of a new artificial magnetic particle. A waveguide measurement technique is used to measure the scattering parameters of the particle. The results are processed to extract the magnetic polarizability. We generally introduce the measurement setup and carry out in detail the analysis for processing the results. The goal is to show that even when measuring complex particles, reasonable measurement accuracy can be achieved with a rather simple measuring cell.

Abstract – The results of complex study of (Ba,Sr)TiO3 (BST) ceramics with magnesium (BSM) and lanthanoid (BSL) additives, which are used to vary the resonant frequency of a dielectric loaded structure in the wakefield accelerating structures are presented. The structure consists of a thin layer of ferroelectric material backing a layer of linear ceramic with high quality factor. The interdigital electrodes formed on the external surface of double ceramic layer are used to apply DC bias voltage to vary the permittivity of the ferroelectric layer and tune the overall frequency of accelerating structure. Three different techniques of electrode-less measurements of microwave dielectric characteristics of ferroelectric ceramics are presented. Suitable material for this application is BST ferroelectric-oxides compound with a dielectric constant of 300-500. A tuning range of 2-4 % could be achieved for an 11-13 GHz dielectric accelerating structure.

Abstract – In this work, pass band properties of Left Handed Media (LHM) are demonstrated. These properties have been used in order to make a LHM super-substrate is going to determine the characteristics of radiation patterns. Simulations with different types of configurations are presented in order to enhance the features of radiation patterns at bore-sight direction.
